Editorial Standards
Everything on this site is either a figure out of our product data, a sentence somebody wrote and put their name behind, or a statement borrowed from a public body and linked to. This page says which is which.
Where the numbers come from
Counts, sheet sizes, weights and prices come from our product data and are rebuilt from it on every pass. Nobody types a price into a paragraph by hand. Where a sentence does the arithmetic, a price divided by a count, a count divided by a day, the rate behind it is printed on the same page, so you can check the division yourself.
Health, skin and the word hypoallergenic
Pages that touch a baby’s skin lean on published guidance from pediatric and dermatology bodies and from the public-health services, and every source is listed with the date it was read. The word hypoallergenic has no federal definition, and this site says so where it uses it. What it means here is a wipe with one ingredient, and a reader can check that on the pack.
What we will not print about ourselves
No award badges, no laboratory results of our own, no customer counts. The certification our cotton carries is the one printed on the pack, and the standard behind it is public: we link to the body that runs it rather than paraphrasing it into a promise. Claims about what happens to cotton after it is thrown away follow the federal guidance on environmental claims, and where that guidance says a word cannot be used without qualification, the qualification is printed.
Quotations from buyers
The comments on this site are real, they are about the wipes they sit beside, and they are printed as they came. We do not quote a review that makes a medical promise on our behalf, and we do not quote one whose subject argues with the pack it is attached to.
When we get it wrong
A count that argues with the box, a photograph of a pack that is not the one being sold, a sentence that reads as a promise: cotton@whoopsiewipes.net, with the page you found it on. It gets fixed on the next update, and we say what changed.
